Harrisburg Doctor to Run Marathon

September 25th, 2009

Harrisburg PA

Dr. Steve Remillard of Capital Chiropractic in Harrisburg is currently training to run the race of his life – the Marine Marathon – on October 24 to raise money for the Semper Fi fund which covers health care expenses for critically wounded Marines.
The 43-year old chiropractor hopes to generate awareness and funds through his athletic fundraising efforts. “These guys and their families have struggled financially because of injuries they sustained serving our country. I feel like this is my time to try to give back a little. This marathon will be the most challenging run of my life.” The doc’s goal is to raise $2,600 for the cause…or $100 for each mile of the 26-mile marathon. To kick start his fundraising he is offering free chiropractic care and massages for his current patients for a full day in exchange for donations to the Semper Fi Fund. The Marine Corps Marathon will be held October 24 in Washington, D.C.

CAR Allowance Rebate System

President Obama signed into law a program the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is calling the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS). This is a federal program that helps you purchase a new, more fuel efficient vehicle when you trade in a less fuel efficient vehicle.

While the CARS Act makes transactions on and after July 1 potentially eligible for credits under the CARS program, interested dealers and consumers may want to wait until all of the detailed issues that must be addressed in the implementing regulations are resolved and the final rule is issued. Issuance will occur around July 24. In the meantime, please visit CARS.gov, for answers to the most commonly asked questions. We are updating the website as information becomes available, so check back often. Read More...
